The dream of watching his younger sister possibly run around in red and blue ensured Melbournes Lynden Dunn had no hesitation in volunteering to be a part of the AFL Players Associations inaugural Womens Football Advisory Committee.Dunn, who has played 165 games for the Demons, is a passionate advocate for womens football. I am delegate for Melbourne for the AFLPA and ... my sister plays junior footy, my dad coaches womens football, so its something Im really passionate about.[The committee] had our first meeting last Friday, we spoke about the key issues and what we want to pursue in the immediate future in regards to the CBA and player welfare - [it is] important the women get the same high standards and opportunities as men, seeing as theyre going to be playing at the highest standards.With the [womens] competition coming in, its something I wanted to be involved in.Its exciting. Its given my sister, whos 12, a chance to play AFL football. Shes grown up watching me play and shes always wanted to. Now she has an opportunity, so for girls like my sister, they can now play on the biggest stage at the highest level, and thats very exciting.
