TORONTO -- Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion has dropped his appeal of a one-game suspension for making contact with umpire Vic Carapazza and will sit out Torontos final game before the All-Star break, Sunday against Detroit.An All-Star for the third time this season, Encarnacion is hitting .267 with a team-high 23 home runs. He leads the majors with 80 RBI.He was suspended for bumping Carapazzas shoulder after being ejected after the first inning in Torontos 19-inning loss to Cleveland on July 1. Encarnacion was upset for being called out on strikes to end the inning, the third Blue Jays batter of the inning to strike out looking.Manager John Gibbons came out to break up the argument and was also ejected.Later in the game, Carapazza ejected Toronto catcher Russell Martin for arguing balls and strikes.
