touchdown pass to Pettis on his first attempt of Antworten

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves are thrilled with the job that interim manager Brian Snitker did this season.Theyre still going to look at other potential candidates to lead the team in 2017.Less than 24 hours after the Braves finished a last-place season with a flourish, team president John Hart said former managers Bud Black and Ron Washington would be interviewed for the job, and other outside candidates may be considered as well. That doesnt mean Snitker is out of the running.Brian Snitker did a tremendous job, Hart said Monday. The year was spiraling out of control. He restored order. The Braves won 50 of their last 97 games, including their finale at Turner Field on Sunday. The team is moving to a new stadium in the suburbs next season.Atlanta was 9-28 when manager Fredi Gonzalez was fired and stood at 18-46 when it began a dramatic turnaround under Snitker.Hart and general manager John Coppolella both said Snitker was a strong candidate to keep his job based on the way the team responded to his leadership.Snitker even attended an end-of-the-year media session, insisting hes comfortable with the process and doesnt mind waiting for the Braves to make a decision. If I was them, Id be doing the same thing, Snitker said.Hart said it was imperative to look at all potential options before deciding who should be in the dugout for the first season at SunTrust Park.Black spent nearly 8 1/2 years as San Diegos manager, going 649-713 before he was fired during the 2015 season. He had only two winning records and never led the Padres to the playoffs, though he was picked as NL Manager of the Year in 2010.Black appeared to be in line for the Washington Nationals job going into this season, but negotiations broke down and Dusty Baker was hired instead.Washington spent nearly eight seasons as Texas manager, guiding the Rangers to consecutive World Series appearances from 2010-11 and capturing a pair of AL Manager of the Year awards. He surprisingly resigned during the 2014 season, revealing later that he stepped down because he had been unfaithful to his wife of 42 years.Washington spent the last two seasons as a coach with the Oakland Athletics, but his ties to Hart go back to when both worked for the Rangers. When you go outside and talk (to candidates), you learn things, Hart saId. There are a lot of smart guys out there. It would be shame on us if we didnt take this opportunity to take a look at the landscape and get a feel for what people think about our club, our players. In addition to Snitker, the Braves have also interviewed coaches Terry Pendleton, Eddie Perez and Bo Porter. But Coppolella seemed to rule them out when he said it was unlikely the team would hire someone with no managerial experience over Snitker, especially off his own coaching staff.Besides the managerial search, here are some things to watch for as the Braves head into the offseason:---BIG SPENDERS: After several years cutting payroll and bulking up the farm system, the Braves plan to be a player in the free-agent market this winter. The team took on much of Matt Kemps $21.75 million annual salary through 2019 in a midseason trade, and the move paid off handsomely. Kemp (35 HRs, 108 RBI) paired with slugger Freddie Freeman (.302, 34 HRs, 91 RBI) to lead Atlantas resurgence. With the move to SunTrust Park and an expected boost in revenue, team owners have cleared the way for a payroll increase.WHERE TO SPEND: The Braves are likely to go mostly for starting pitching. Julio Teheran has ace-like stuff, though a lack of run support left him with a 7-10 record. Mike Foltynewicz (9-5, 4.31 ERA) looks as though hes finally ready to hold down a spot in the rotation, and Matt Wisler (7-13, 5.00) showed flashes of potential but needs to be more consistent. Coppolella said the team is looking to add at least two new starting pitchers and maybe three for 2017.STANDING PAT: The Braves are happy with their everyday lineup. Rookie shortstop Dansby Swanson is a star in the making, and Adonis Garcia (.273, 14 HRs, 65 RBI) returned from a stint in the minors to nail down the third base job. Tyler Flowers did a solid job at catcher, though the Braves would like to sign another veteran to share the job. Also keep an eye on second base, where top prospect Ozzie Albies is on the verge of breaking through, though a late-season injury in the minors could set him back.THE BACK END: Jim Johnson agreed to a two-year contract extension on the final day of the regular season and will go into 2017 as the expected closer. His presence gives the Braves a chance to bring along some of their younger pitchers in less-stressful roles, including hard-throwing Mauricio Cabrera and Jose Ramirez. Former closer Arodys Vizcaino could be in the mix if he can bounce back from shoulder problems that shut him down this season.---Follow Paul Newberry on Twitter at www.twitter.com/pnewberry1963 . Black Friday Nike Shoes .Y. -- The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Kevin Porter and defenceman Chad Ruhwedel from the minors as part of a five-player roster shuffle made by the NHLs worst team. https://www.fakenikeshoeswholesale.com/ . Schenn scored the game-winning goal and added two assists to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday. Nike Shoes China . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season. Cheap Nike Shoes .Y. - Free agent outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, fresh off winning the World Series with Boston, reached agreement with the rival New York Yankees on a seven-year contract worth about $153 million, a person familiar with the negotiations said Tuesday night. SEATTLE -- Jake Browning has thrown for 581 yards and eight touchdowns in Washingtons first two games.Though Browning as yet to play in a fourth quarter in No. 8 Washingtons victories against lesser opponents Rutgers and Idaho, coach Chris Petersen believes he has even more to offer with a little more refinement.Browning matched Washingtons school record with five touchdown passes -- two each to Dante Pettis and John Ross -- and finished with 294 yards in the No. 8 Huskies 59-14 romp over Idaho on Saturday.Browning has helped Washington (2-0) to its highest ranking since 2001.Hes done a real nice job, head coach Chris Petersen said of Browning. Hes completing a lot of passes. Hes keeping his eyes downfield. Hes buying time, all those things that good quarterbacks do.After throwing for 287 yards and three touchdowns last week against Rutgers, Browning was nearly flawless against Idaho. He completed 23 of 28 passes for 294 yards and deferred to backup K.J. Carta-Samuels after the opening drive of the third quarter following his fifth touchdown pass of the day, an 8-yard strike to Ross that gave Washington a 42-0 lead. While the production has been stellar, its the process that will yield the consistency needed when conference play begins. Thats where Petersen feels there is still room to grow.I think the thing that is interesting is I still think there is some things were cleaning up with him, Petersen said. When you go back, what I really want to look at is did he need to escape? Did he have things he could have got the ball out? I know on one early on -- I think he threw a touchdown -- I think he didnt need to make it so spectacular.Against Idaho, it was still more than enough.Following a fumble on the opening kickoff by Lloyd Hightower that was recovered by Washington, Browning threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Pettis on his first attempt of the game. He completed 13 consecutive passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns in the second quarter as the Huskies built a 35-0 halftime advantage. We didnt really do anything crazy, Browning said. Just go in, run our stuff and execute well.Browning joined Keith Price (2012), Jake Locker (2010) and Chris Rowlland (1973) as the only Huskies to throw five touchdown passes in a game.dddddddddddd.The Vandals (1-1) kept it in reach in the first quarter. Kaden Elliss forced a fumble on a sack of Browning to give Idaho the ball in Washington territory. But after driving into the red zone, Jacob Sannon fumbled at the 1 after a hit from Jojo McIntosh, and Azeem Victor recovered to keep Idaho out of the end zone.We got whooped, Idaho coach Paul Petrino said. We got whooped but I thought our guys stayed fighting in the second half.Washington scored 35 straight points afterward before the Vandals finally got on the board with a 20-yard pass from Matt Linehan to Trent Cowan in the third quarter.THE TAKEAWAYIdaho: Idaho lost its road opener against Pac-12 foe USC 59-9 in 2015. The Vandals foray against Pac-12 opposition wasnt much better. The Vandals forced just six incompletions in 33 pass attempts by Washington. Theyll face an even more pass-happy opponent in Washington State next week.Washington: The Huskies defense and passing attack are every bit that of a Top 10 team. However, the rushing attack has struggled in the first two weeks. Myles Gaskin has rushed for just 124 yards through two games after being thought of as a fringe Heisman Trophy candidate before the season.UP NEXTIdaho: The Vandals will face a second straight Pac-12 foe in Washington State. They will make the short eight-mile trip to Martin Stadium for their first meeting in three years.Washington: The Huskies host FCS Portland State in their final test before the start of Pac-12 play.POLL IMPLICATIONSWashington will remain in the Top 10 this week after the convincing victory and is likely to stay there into the start of Pac-12 play with another non-conference warmup against FCS Portland State next week.LAST WORDThey felt like it, Petrino said about Washingtons No. 8 ranking. The hitting, hearing the hitting, defensively they definitely felt like it. Offensively, their speed is like it. So I wouldnt be surprised if theyre there at the end of the year, thats for sure.
