Editors note: This column appears each week to give ESPN Chalk readers a first look at the next weeks NFL lines. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook also puts out the advance lines on the prior Tuesday (so Week 5 lines will be posted this upcoming Tuesday), and well examine how the weekend action affected those lines from the openers on the Don Best odds screen. Well also look at which lines were the first to be bet by the professional bettors in Vegas (traditionally, those are the bettors most likely to fire away on these openers, though its not the exclusive club that it used to be). LAS VEGAS -- As the first night of betting on NFL Week 4 came to a close Sunday night, six of the 15 games (Green Bay and Philadelphia are on their bye week) were off the betting boards at most sports books here.Normally, the games involving the four teams playing on Sunday and Monday nights will be off the board at most books (though the Westgate SuperBook tries its best to have a line for every game), but the Buffalo-New England and Seattle-New York Jets games were also not available at most books because of the Patriots and Seahawks uncertain situations at quarterback (whether Jimmy Garoppolo or Jacoby Brissett will start for New England in its last game before Tom Bradys return, and whether Russell Wilsons knee injury will keep him out of Seattles last game before its Week 5 bye). With that in mind, lets take a look at the Week 4 lines to see how theyve evolved as of Sunday night and where they might be headed (the line in parentheses is from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook as of the end of Sunday nights game): Air Force 1 Utility Pas Cher . The Hall of Fame defenceman told Landsberg that he believes fighting still has a place in todays game, but thinks staged fighting needs be outlawed. Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 Pas Cher . After taking two big hits this week -- losing at home and dropping back-to-back games for the first time all season -- Indiana struck back by playing its most complete game of the year. Nike Joyride Run Flyknit Pas Cher . Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz were sent to Toronto on Saturday as the Maple Leafs traded defenceman Jesse Blacker and draft picks to the Anaheim Ducks. Nike Sb Belgique .Y. - New York City has been selected to host the NBA All-Star weekend in 2015, with the game played at Madison Square Garden and the slam dunk contest and other skills events held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia manager Pete Mackanin is frustrated with the approach at the plate of Phillies hitters the last three games.Philadelphia managed just five hits while dropping its third straight game, 2-1 in 10 innings to the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night. Were in that hitting funk again, Mackanin said. Were just not swinging the bats. Too many bad at-bats. Were not grinding out at-bats, and we need to do that. The Phillies have a total of 10 hits during their losing streak and Mackanin said he was going to have a team meeting to address the approach at the plate.Specifically, the manager is irked by called third strikes with runners in scoring position.Tommy Joseph looked at a third strike in the sixth inning with a runner on third and two outs and Peter Bourjos did the same thing an inning later with two outs and the bases loaded.Too many called third strikes with men in scoring position, Mackanin said. Thats a pet peeve of mine, and were going to address that. We just need to hit.Joseph homered for Philadelphia.Christian Yelich homered and drove in the game-winning run with a single in the 10th inning to lead Miami to its third straight win.J.T. Realmuto added two hits for the Marlins, who remained one game ahead of the New York Mets for the second wild-card spot in the National League. These are kind of the games you have to win, Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. As we keep doing what weve been doing, were going to have a lot of these games that are close and hard to win.Adeiny Hechavarria opened the 10th with a double off David Hernandez (1-3). After Hernandez walked Martin Prado to put runners on first and second with two outs, Mackanin lifted Hernandez so left-hander Daniel Stumpf could face the left-handed Yelich.Yelich put Miami in front by lacing Stumpfs 3-2 pitch to left field, easily scoring Hechavarria.(Yelich) was able to execute when he needed to, Mattingly said.A.J. Ramos pitched a scorreless 10th for his 31st save in 32 opportunities.ddddddddddddMike Dunn (2-1) tossed a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the victory. The Marlins defeated Philadelphia in extra innings on Monday, 3-2 on Prados 11th-inning homer.Miami got on the board first when Yelich connected on an 0-2 pitch and drove it into the Marlins bullpen in right-center. The 452-foot shot was Yelichs 13th homer of the season. He is hitting .369 in 20 career games at Citizens Bank Park.Philadelphia answered in the bottom of the frame when Joseph launched his 13th homer into the third row of the upper deck in left field, a 430-foot drive.STARTING REPORTIn a matchup of 24-year-olds, Miami starter Jose Urena and Philadelphias Vince Velasquez pitched well although neither got a decision.Velasquez gave up one run and three hits with five strikeouts and four walks in seven strong innings. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA his last four starts. It was a good start from the get-go, Velasquez said. I was pretty happy with the outcome today.Urena was called up from Triple-A before the game to make his first start of the season and he didnt disappoint. The right-hander gave up one run and four hits with five strikeouts and one walk in 5 2/3 innings. Urena entered 1-1 with a 7.52 ERA in 16 relief appearances for Miami this season.ICHIRO UPDATEMiamis Ichiro Suzuki grounded out pinch-hitting in the eighth inning. Suzuki remained six hits shy of becoming the 30th player to reach 3,000 career hits.TRAINERS ROOMPhillies: 3B Maikel Franco went headfirst into the turf while making a diving catch on Don Kellys bunt attempt in the 10th. Franco was seen by the trainer but remained in the game.UP NEXTMiami LHP Wei-Yin Chen (5-3, 4.90) faces Phillies RHP Jeremy Hellickson (6-7, 4.03) on Wednesday night in the third game of the four-game series.
