Oklahoma sophomore running back Joe Mixon will return against No. 17 Baylor on Nov. 12 after being suspended for a team rules violation, coach Bob Stoops said Thursday night.Mixon missed the No. 14 Sooners 34-24 win over Iowa State on Thursday night due to the suspension, which was issued Tuesday.The school didnt specify the infraction, but in a statement released through OU, Mixon said he did not respond appropriately to parking attendants and understand and accept the consequences.According to Mixons attorney, Blake Johnson, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Mixon was given a parking citation on the OU campus.He was frustrated, as most of us are when we get a ticket, Johnson told The Oklahoman. He tore the ticket up in front of the parking attendant and threw it on the ground.Johnson said the parking attendant filed a complaint with the University of Oklahoma police department after Mixons reaction.According to the OU police case report, Mixon threw a torn up parking citation, which allegedly struck the victim in the face.The Cleveland County district attorney told the Oklahoman that his office has declined to press charges.Mixon leads the Sooners in rushing with 813 yards on 119 carries and is second on the team with five touchdowns this season. Two weeks ago in a win at Texas Tech, he became the first Sooners running back in school history to catch three touchdown passes in a game.Oklahoma suspended Mixon for the 2014 season after he was charged with a misdemeanor for punching a female student in July 2014.
