for a par and a 67 to reach 3-under 207, Antworten

RIO DE JANEIRO -- The World Rowing Federation (FISA) is adamant every race will take place in the Olympic regatta at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas despite Sundays programme being postponed due to windy conditions and a fault with the buoy system.Sir Steve Redgrave, Britains most decorated rower, backed the decision to postpone Sundays rowing but warned of a doomsday outcome where, if this wind continues and scheduling chaos ensues, then for the first time since the inaugural modern Olympics medals may not be awarded. The weather caused havoc on Saturday. After Serbias mens pair capsized in conditions Katherine Grainger called the worst shes ever rowed in, Sunday mornings training sessions saw two further boats flip. With gusts blowing down from the hills, the original 8.30 a.m. start time for Sundays rowing was firstly delayed by two hours but then came confirmation at 10.15 a.m. of postponement after the wind direction shifted, seeing 50 metres/second gusts causing boats unable to hold their direction and buoys shifted out of position in the lanes. It was a technical instillation issue causing the delays, FISA executive director Matt Smith said. The expected winds were above anything we expected for the cables of our buoy systems. We had cables lying in lanes. FISA say this problem is now solved.Having lost a day to the elements, Smith said the plan is to schedule the W8+ and M8+ races and M4x and W4x repechages on Monday morning from 8.30 a.m. and then slot in as many of Sundays postponed races from 9.30 a.m. until 1.30 p.m. FISA say the programme will have caught up by Wednesday but if the weather causes further delays then there is a contingency plan of extending the regatta to Sunday, Aug. 14.We are old and experienced in staging regatta, Smith added. We have a lot of tricks up our sleeve, a lot of contingency plans. We could even have two rounds on the same day, we have done that in the past. We have advanced racing in the past. With nine days, including Sunday morning, we are confident we are ready for nearly anything they can throw at us.For Redgrave, he said the rowers safety was paramount but added if these windy conditions continue, then the organisers will face a logistical nightmare to fit in every race.None of the rowers wouldve liked to have run out in that, especially the ones who have the repechages which determine whether they stay in the Olympic regatta or not, Redgrave said as a plastic chair flew off behind him. We are an outdoor sport and in outdoor sports you are open to the elements and you have to deal with that. Weve raced in conditions similar to this and there is a point you have to call it and I guarantee you that 99 percent of the athletes will be pleased. He added: The tough bit is that if this weather continues. But what were hearing is that if the programme gets delayed and delayed then the boats going through repechages may not get the chance to race in them. That is eight out of 14 categories -- so the [Team GB] womens pair and mens four wont race today and if they dont get to race until Saturday when there are perfect conditions on Saturday morning, what do you do then? Do you have the heats, the repechage, the semifinal and final in one day?Youd have 14 events. Its not going to happen, it would be cancelled. The worst case scenario is that there will not be any Olympic medals given out at this Games. So if you start that at the doom and gloom then anything better than that will be good.Team GB team leader Sir David Tanner said he was absolutely supportive of the decision to postpone Sundays racing and FISA had made completely the right call.If we look at the programme to be frank it is possible for it to be completed in fewer days than eight, Tanner said. Youve seen the sessions are relatively short and from my point of view, and our rowers would say the same, if we get a window and can get on with it, they wont argue with racing in the morning or afternoon, we could do it. C. J. Cron Twins Jersey . You can watch the game live on TSN at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. The Flyers had won seven of eight before dropping their last two outings on consecutive days over the weekend. Philadelphia was handed a 6-3 loss by the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday afternoon before dropping a 4-1 decision to the Rangers the following night in New York City. Byron Buxton Twins Jersey . -- The boos poured down on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at the end of a horrible first half. http://www.twinssale.com/twins-jake-odorizzi-jersey/ . Andrew Luck lost his favourite target and the Indianapolis locker room lost one of its most revered leaders when Reggie Wayne was diagnosed Monday with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee that will cost him the rest of the season. Jason Castro Twins Jersey . Bjorn, who had a 36-hole total of 8-under 134, made a testing six-foot putt to save par on the 16th and a birdie on the 17th before bogeying the final hole after a misjudged approach shot. American Kevin Streelman was in second place after shooting a 69. Eddie Rosario Jersey . Artturi Lehkonen, Joni Nikko and Ville Leskinen had the other goals for Finland (1-0) while Juuse Saros stopped 28 shots. Tim Robin Johnsgard had the lone goal for Norway (0-2). SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Thunderstorms shut down the PGA Championship on Saturday before 10 players could even hit a shot, setting up what could be a long, wet and wild conclusion to the final major of the year -- whenever it ends.Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb made it as far as the practice range before clouds gathered, the sky rumbled and storms dumped more rain on an already saturated golf course at Baltusrol. Tied for the lead at 9-under par, they faced a 36-hole Sunday, provided the course could be ready by 7 a.m.Otherwise, another Monday finish loomed, and that was only part of the unpredictable nature of this PGA Championship.Kevin Kisner had seven birdies in his round of 5-under 65 and was at 5-under 205. He was one shot ahead of Padraig Harrington, who also had a 65. They were among only 37 players of the 86 who made the cut to complete the third round. The plan was for the third-round pairings to go right back out Sunday morning, meaning they would finish before the last group even began the fourth round. That will be an interesting dynamic, for sure, said Kerry Haigh, the PGA of Americas managing director of championships. Add to the excitement, actually. It was the second time the PGA rolled the dice at Baltusrol and failed. In the 2005 PGA Championship, they chose not to move up the tee times on Sunday with a high possibility of storms in the forecast, and Phil Mickelson had to return to play five holes to secure a one-shot victory. With storms in the forecast for Saturday afternoon, Haigh said the PGA did not significantly consider a two-tee start Saturday morning in threesomes. The forecast is similar to what it has been the previous two days, with a chance of rain in the afternoon, summer showers. And thats exactly what we got, Haigh said. Unfortunately, today they hit us. And yesterday, they missed us.It was the third time in five years that weather messed with the PGA Championship. The final round was played in threesomes off both tees at Kiawah Island in 2012, and Valhalla was a quagmire in 2014, though the last two rounds were played in twosomes and barely finished. Rory McIlroy won both of them.Haigh could not think of the last time the players were not paired according to their 54-hole score for the final round.Russell Knox lagged a 65-foot birdie attempt on the 18th hole, tapped in for a par and a 67 to reach 3-under 207, and then heard the horn as Marc Leishman was getting ready for his 12-foot birdie aattempt.dddddddddddd Leishman has to return at 7 a.m. for that putt, and then wait two hours to start his final round.Knox couldnt resist a playful dig on Twitter in which he told Leishman that he had grub, showered and feet up now. They could use plenty of rest, and a break in the weather.Baltusrol already had about 3 inches of rain this week, and Haigh didnt have a report on Saturdays damage because it was still raining. There is no defense for soft greens, however, and it showed.Streb posted the 30th round of 63 in a major on Friday. Kisner and Harrington took aim Saturday before the rain, each with 65s. Harrington didnt even think he played that well and still shot a 65, his lowest ever in a PGA Championship.Hit the right shots at the right time and any of the shots that I didnt hit well didnt do me any harm, Harrington said. So it was one of those days. Its nice when you score better than you play. It was just an average day, as I said. Thursday was the day I played well. It was amazing, the best I played Thursday, is the worst score I shot. Thats the nature of the game.Kisner was slowed by a pair of bogeys on the front nine, though he bounced back with two straight birdies and finished with three birdies in his last four holes. You keep it in the fairway, you can attack, Kisner said. The course is receptive enough. You can make a lot of birdies.Mickelson made the cut with one shot to spare on Friday, rallying from an opening tee shot that went out-of-bounds and onto a side street. He shot a 68 on Saturday and was at 1-under 209, and he predicted far lower scores to come. There is a low 60s round, Mickelson said when he finished. I think somebody is going to break that 63 record in these next two days. The greens are pristine. You can make a lot of putts. They are soft, so you can get the ball very close. I think that theres that 61 or 62 out there that I was probably trying to chase a little too hard.Haigh was only hopeful for good weather, as soon as possible. He said the course had so much water it was unplayable even if it stopped raining, and more rain overnight would make a 7 a.m. start unlikely. When it does get back into shape, the greens will be soft. Baltusrols strength is measuring the right bounce on the greens because of the contours. This might be more like lawn darts. ' ' '
