Ferrari has opted not to go ahead with its appeal of Sebastian Vettels penalty at the Mexican Grand Prix.Vettel was stripped of a podium in Mexico after the stewards deemed he moved under braking while defending position from Daniel Ricciardo on the penultimate lap. At the time Ferrari claimed the podium had been taken away by bureaucracy but the official results were issued in Mexico with Vettel classified fifth. However, at the next round in Brazil the Italian team asked for a review of the stewards decision under the FIAs International Sporting Code, claiming new information had come to light. GPS data and the fact Charlie Whiting had not asked Max Verstappen to give back his position after skipping Turn 2 ahead of Vettel were put forward as new elements in the investigation, but the stewards rejected they had any further impact on the ruling and upheld the decision.Ferrari then lodged its intention to appeal, giving it 96 hours to decide whether it would take the issue all the way to the FIAs International Court of Appeal. But when the deadline lapsed on Tuesday Ferrari had not lodged a full appeal, leaving the results of the Mexican Grand Prix unchanged. Swell Fles Nederland .
