mimicking the Pittsburgh Steelers defence in preparat Antworten

RICHMOND, Va. -- At 2:05 p.m., under partly cloudy skies, with a few scattered chants of "R-G-3!" from the crowd, Robert Griffin III took a snap from centre Will Montgomery at the 50-yard line and handed the ball to running back Alfred Morris. History made, Washington Redskins style. Griffins first 11-on-11 play of the 2013 training camp. Like the moon landing, the sort of thing where you always remember where you were when it happened. "Not quite that dramatic," third-string quarterback Rex Grossman said. "But I hear your point." Actually, the payoff didnt match the hype. Griffin ran 16 plays with the first-string offence against a scout team that was mimicking the Pittsburgh Steelers defence in preparation for the Redskins next preseason game. Wearing his familiar black brace on his right knee, Griffin completed 7 of 10 passes with an interception. He moved well in the pocket, although he didnt face much of a pass rush. "Its like he never left," right tackle Tyler Polumbus said. "We hardly even noticed that he just got back in there. He was the same guy he was last year, and the same guy hes been in walkthroughs and 7-on-7 and all that." Griffin had been limited to 7-on-7 drills during camp as he works his way back from reconstructive knee surgery, part of coach Mike Shanahans cautious approach that has tested Griffins patience. The difference between 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 is the presence of pass-rushing linemen who can test the quarterbacks ability to change directions in a hurry. Yet Grossman said it would be a stretch to categorize Griffins snaps Wednesday as true 11-on-11 work. Second-stringer Kirk Cousins, for instance, took back the reins when the starters faced the starters in the two-minute drill, with Griffin again a spectator. "He looks great," Grossman said. "Right at seven months is where I felt like I was healthy when I tore my ACL. Hes pretty much ready to go. I would say hes 90 per cent capable of doing everything." Even so, Grossman understands Shanahans approach. "If somebody were to fall in a competitive drill on his knee, everybody would have second-guessed it," Grossman said. "I think everybodys playing it smart, and Week 1, nobody remembers anything that happened before that. They remember the playoff game and Week 1, and whatever happens in between, nobody cares." Except that they do. Wednesdays announced of 10,111 was one of the biggest of camp, and it drew a disproportional amount of national media. Adding to the drama has been the back-and-forth between Shanahan and Griffin, who has said he doesnt like the coachs practice plan but is following along if it means playing in the regular season opener on Sept. 9. Pierre Garcon, who caught Griffins first 11-on-11 pass, was asked for his take on the way the quarterback has publicly challenged the coach. "We dont necessarily like it, but thats the kind of player he is," Garcon said. "He wants to be out there, he wants to help the team. But hes still got some time. We dont need him for just Week 1, we need him for the whole season." Griffin did not address reporters Wednesday. Shanahan called Griffins work the "next step" toward Week 1. "Hell get more accustomed every practice he has, every rep he gets, and obviously our goal is to get him ready for the first game," Shanahan said. "Hopefully there is no setback." Note: More than 100 members of the military attended the practice. Griffin, the son of Army parents, made a beeline for the group after the workout and signed autographs. ... The Redskins cut veteran WR Devery Henderson. Cheap Yeezy 350 . "Trying to breathe," he said with a grin. Bernier stopped 42 of 43 shots on Monday night, including all 22 in a hectic middle frame, his heroic performance propelling the Leafs toward an undue point in their final game before the Christmas break. Coach Mike Munchak says Fokou stretched ligaments in his left knee Oct. 13 against Seattle, which could keep out up to five weeks even though the linebacker didnt need surgery. http://www.wholesaleyeezy350nz.com/ . Scott Kazmir allowed four hits in seven shutout innings, Michael Brantley hit a two-run homer in a three-run first inning and the Indians maintained their hold on an AL wild-card spot with a 4-1 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. Cheap Authentic Yeezy 350 . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season.Leicesters nerves will be jangling but, despite Jamie Vardys suspension, they will find a way to claim three points against Swansea, says Jamie Redknapp... Leicester are in unchartered territory.Jamie Vardy has been their top scorer and their talisman this season. Hes played every league game and fired them to the top of the table with 22 goals. His suspension for this weekends game with Swansea is a massive blow. And the truth is, we dont know how Leicester are going to adjust.Their ability to soak up pressure and hit teams on the break is something theyve mastered this year. And hes been central to that success, with his pace unsettling the opposition. Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy (left) remonstrated with the referee against West Ham Boss Claudio Ranieri has options. He could bring in Jeff Schlupp or the pacey Demarai Gray. Or he could play Leonardo Ulloa or even Riyad Mahrez off Shinji Okazaki. But whoever he picks, it may be that Leicester need to play a bit more football on Sunday and move up the pitch in stages, rather than in the direct way they have previously. They might have to be a little bit more patient in their build-up. Options without Vardy With Jamie Vardy suspended, we look at Leicesters other attacking options But its not the end of the world for them. Vardys been playing so well but I still think its something they can cope with for this Swansea game. They will miss him more for the away game at Manchester United, should his ban be extended, because its in those games where hes been so effective on the break.Vardys suspension follows Leicesters dramatic 2-2 draw with West Ham. After five straight wins, we cant say that result is a blip. But its a nerve-jangler. Its like in the Grand National when a horse is going well and then it hits a fence. You dont know how the horse is going to react when they get to the next fence. This is life-changing. This is history in the making. How can Leicesters players not be nervous? Im nervous for them! Jamie Redknapp What will the reaction be from Leicester this weekend? I keep hearing people say: What have they got to be nervous about because theyve already achieved so much. But of course theyre going to be nervous. This is life-changing. This is history in the making. How can they not be nervous? Im nervous for them!If they dont win the league from here, theyll regret it forever because a lot of these players will never get the chance to win the Premier League again. Long-ball Leicester? Only two teams in Europe have played a higher percentage of long balls than Leicester Tottenham, on the other hand, look like they could play forever.ddddddddddddThey look like they could wipe the floor with every team they play at the moment - and thats the scary part of it for Leicester.Spurs are breathing down their necks and Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele and Toby Alderweireld are playing like its August and theyre full of energy. They look like theyre enjoying the chase. Claudio Ranieri has urged his players to step up and impress in the absence of Jamie Vardy following his suspension this weekend. That makes Ranieris job very important but, like his players, we dont know how hes going to react to this situation, either. Hes never won a top-flight title before. Its not like Sir Alex Ferguson when he was playing mind games.Ranieri deep down must be thinking: Ive always been a nearly man. This is my chance to ram it down the throat of everyone who said I wasnt a good manager. This is his opportunity and that brings nerves and pressure. Its not just the whole country focussing on this - sports fans across the world are talking about this. Its unprecedented. And while the Leicester coaching staff will try to keep training fun and fresh this week, when the players go home and turn on Sky Sports News or pick up a paper, theyll start feeling the pressure. They cant hide from the enormity of what theyre doing. And they cant hide from the fact they need to bounce back from that West Ham result with a statement against Swansea. Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea follow for Leicester. Tricky tests. If they dont win this one, Id make Tottenham favourites for the title. Thats how much is riding on it.Swansea got beaten 3-0 last week and they cant be as bad as that again, and the Vardy suspension is terrible timing. But I think Leicester will come up with the response they need.
